About Peter Carson

Short Bio

Peter is founder and President of Envision IT and Extranet User Manager, a Microsoft M365 MVP since 2011, and President of the Toronto SharePoint User Group. He has lead his team at Envision IT in the use and deep customization of Microsoft 365, Azure, SharePoint, and .NET for over 20 years. He complements this with equally strong business skills coming from working with small to enterprise organizations in many verticals across private, public-sector, and not-for-profit spaces, giving him the ability to quickly understand both business and technical problems and develop solutions. He is well recognized as an evangelist in the Microsoft 365 and Azure community, speaking regularly at user group meetings, conferences, and Microsoft events.

As the founder and President of Envision IT and Extranet User Manager, Peter brings over 30 years of technology consulting, certified engineering skills, database design, and application development – combined with strong communication, analytical planning and business skills. This has allowed our clients to see more - transitioning internal facing Information Management systems to powerful customer facing, web enabled Enterprise solutions.

Peter combines very strong technical and business skills, giving him the ability to quickly understand both business and technical problems and develop solutions. His experience span small to enterprise organizations in many verticals across private, public-sector, and not-for-profit.

Within the Microsoft Community, Peter is known as a partner-evangelist for leading-edge Microsoft Technology, often taking on a role in creating demo materials and training for new Microsoft products and technology. Well recognized as a leader in the Microsoft 365 and Azure community, Peter speaks regularly at user group meetings, conferences, and Microsoft events. In recognition of this, Microsoft has awarded Peter the Microsoft M365 Apps & Services  MVP designation annually since 2011.  He is also the President of the Toronto SharePoint User Group, and Past President of the International Association of Microsoft Certified Partners – Canadian Chapter.  Peter holds a BASc – Computer Engineering from the University of Waterloo.
